(아래의) 예제는 4인 게임을 기준으로 되어있습니다. 이는 더 많은 사람은 게임을 할 수 없다는 의미가 아닙니다. 일단 예제 게임대로 게임을 시작해보고, 이후에 더 많은 사람과 함께 게임을 해보시기 바랍니다. 우선 초기 자본금을 나누어주세요. 각 참가자들은 475M(마르크)를 받습니다. 규칙서에 적혀있는, 게임 시작할 때의 주식 더미의 배치 상황(Share-Starting Packet)을 살펴보세요. 그리고, 그림대로 주식들을 놓습니다. 1835는 최초 주식 라운드부터 시작합니다.

4인의 참가자, 상배, 명희, 세근, 윤성은 각각 테이블에 앉습니다. 상배는 은행장을 겸임하고, 세근은 가장 낮은 숫자의 시작 쪽지를 뽑았으므로, 세근부터 게임을 시작합니다.

최초 주식 라운드는 이후의 주식 라운드와는 조금 다릅니다. 최초 주식 라운드에서는, 여러분이 방금 막 배치해놓은 최초의 주식 더미들만이 구매 가능합니다. 또한 최초 주식 라운드는 이후의 라운드와는 달리, 주식을 판매할 수 없고, 오직 구매와 차례 넘김(pass)만 할 수 있습니다. 주식 더미의 맨 줄에 있는 증서들만 구매할 수 있습니다. 해당 줄에서 오직 하나의 증서만 구매 가능한 경우에만, 바로 아래 줄의 맨 왼쪽 증서도 구매 가능합니다. 이해되었나요? 이제 각자가 역할을 맡아서 게임을 진행해보면 여러분들은 이게 얼마나 쉬운 건지 아실 수 있을 겁니다. 세근: 뉘른베르크-퓌르트 社와 베르기쉐-매르키쉐(B-M) 社 가운데 하나를 선택할 수 있습니다. 그는 뉘른베르크-퓌르트 사를 구매하며, 거기에 딸려있는 베예리쉐(BY) 社의 주식 한 주를 무료로 가져옵니다. 구매 금액은 증서에 적혀있는 대로 100마르크이며, 이는 은행에 지불합니다.

윤성: 베르기쉐-매르키쉐 社, 라이프치히-드레스데너 社 그리고, 베를리너-포츠다머 社 가운데 하나를 선택할 수 있습니다. 그는 베를리너 포츠다머 社를 선택하고 170마르크를 지불합니다.

상배: 베르기쉐-매르키쉐 社와 라이프치히-드레스데너 社 가운데 하나를 선택할 수 있습니다. 그는 아무 것도 하지 않고 자신의 차례를 넘깁니다. (pass)

명희: 이제 맨 아랫줄의 모든 증서들이 구매 가능해졌습니다. 그녀는 베를린-슈테티너 社를 구매합니다. (80마르크)

세근: 오스트베예리쉐 社를 구매합니다. (120마르크) 그리고, 거기에 딸려있는 베예리쉐 社의 주식 한 주를 무료로 가져옵니다.

윤성: 알토나-키엘 社를 구매합니다. (80마르크)

상배: 팔츠바넨 社를 구매합니다. (150마르크) 그리고, 거기에 딸려있는 베예리쉐 社의 주식 한 주를 무료로 가져옵니다.

명희: pass, 세근 pass, 윤성 pass, 그리고 상배까지 pass.

연속적으로 4명의 참가자가 모두 자신의 차례를 넘겼으므로, 이제 최초 주식 라운드가 끝이 났습니다. 상배가 마지막으로 뭔가를 구매한 사람이므로, (바로 다음 사람인) 명희는 목재 기관차 모형을 가져와서 다음 주식 라운드를 시작하는 사람임을 나타냅니다.

 

자아~ 그럼 이후에는 어떻게 진행하면 될까요?

 

The test game is written for 4 players. This doesn't mean that a larger number can't play. Just play through the start game and then start again with the higher number. Give out the starting money. Each player receives 475M. Look at the sheet showing the distribution of the starting packet shares, and lay the shares out accordingly. 1835 starts with the first share round.

Four players, A, B, C, D. sit at the table. A is the banker and C has the lowest start number and so starts.

The first share round is somewhat different from all the following share rounds. Only the starting packet shares are available at first, those which you've laid out. Also, in the first share round, unlike later rounds, you may not sell shares, only buying or passing is permitted. Only the certificates on the uppermost row of the starting packet may be bought, unless only one certificate is available, when the leftmost of the certificates in the row directly underneath is also available for purchase. Complicated? If you each take a role and play it through, you'll see how easy it is.

C: has a choice between the Numberg-Furth and the Bergische-Markische railways. Buys the Nurnberg-Furth and gets a free Bayerische share with it. The purchase price (lOOM),is printed on the card and goes to the bank.

D: choice, Bergisch-Markische, Leipzig-Dresdener, Berliner-potsdamer railways. He chooses the Berlin-Potsdamer and pays 170M.

A: Choice, Bergisch-Markische or Leipzig-Dresdener Passes.

B: Choice, as above. Buys the Leipzig-Dresdener, (190M), and gets the director's share of the Sachsische railway free.

C: Choice, B-M or Mag. Buys the Magdeburger, (80M).

D: Choice, B-M or K-M. Buys the K-M, (160M).

A: Choice, B-M or the Bayerische director's share. Buys the share, (184M).

B: Choice, B-M or Brandenburgische railway. Buys the Brandenburgische. (130M).

C: Choice , Only the Bergische-Markische since the row directly beneath is sold out. passes.

D: Choice, as above, passes.

A: Choice, as above, buys the Bergische-Markische(80M).

B: Choice, now all the certificates in the bottomost row are available, buys the Berlin-Stettiner. (80M).

C: buys the Ostbayerische railway, (120M), and gets a free Bayerische share with it.

D: Buys the Altona Kiel, (80M).

A: Buys the Pfalzbahnen, (150M) and gets a free Bayerische share with it.

B: passes, C passes, D passes, A passes.

The first share round is now over. All four players have passed in turn. B takes the wooden locomotive, showing that he starts the next share round, since A was the last to buy something.
